AA,
Thanks for the update Haseeb. Just one thought, the list of people you have attending doesn't include many (I can only think of Yasmin) new 2nd years - surely these guys are most important as they will be allocated 'children/nephews/nieces', not us!!!
I don't mind coming in if I'm needed but I think it's very important to check how many 2nd years will inshallah be there (regardless of Ramadan). Could Yasmin maybe chase up 2nd years and confirm numbers to Haseeb please?
WS,
Shayan

Salam, I couldn't agree more Shayan, thought the main brunt of this would fall on the 2nd Years. Anyway I'm in and we'll see what the overall numbers are like.

Salaam all
This is a v important post...Its is most likely going to be ramadan on sunday from what i have heard...this means that the first fast + iftar will be on sunday obviously....Now because of this, i think it will be a problem for not only the uncles and aunties to come (as they will be more inclined to have iftar with their family on the first day of Ramadhan) but also i've got a feeling that not many muslim freshers will turn up....
Mums and Dads starts at 6.30pm on sunday, and iftar will be around 6.55-7.00pm ..i.e. knowing this, i doubt many people will come..
People that haseeb had listed are:
1. yasmin 2. sana 3. shirin 4. shayan 5. rashid 6. saj 7. sally 8. ayesha 9. zakia 10. suleman 11. ibz 12. waheed 13. samir 14. Haseeb
- ideally there should be more second years coming then 3rd years as they will be the people who are actually assigned an individual student .. the rest of us are just going to be lurking around stalking the people who look like muslims lol
Out of the 14 above, i have spoken to 8-- out of those 8, ibz can't make it, and the other 7 -sana,shayan,shirin,waheed,rashid i.e. me,suleman, sally - all expressed that there will be difficulty in coming if its the first day of ramadan for watever reason (iftar with family etc)..
that leaves Samir, Yasmin, Haseeb, Ayesha , Zakia and Saj -- i'm not sure where they stand, but again if they have family commitments e.g eating iftar, then i wouldnt want people to be at uncles and aunties unwillingly..
So what it boils down to is once the date of ramadan is confirmed , i'd like each of you listed above to post on the forums/email me whether you will be 100% attending uncles and aunties or not - It doesn't matter if you said you were coming before, the circumstances changed with ramadhan round the corner...I myself don't think i shall be attending..
Look forward to hearing from you guys... Wasalaam Rashid
