Salaam, this message is primarily for nihad.. If it's not possible to make all the necessary changes you were planning to the main website by the 16th of August (when the A-level results are out) then atleast make sure that what is up on www.rums-isoc.uclu.org is presentable and informative. you should remove all the old posters that are up there, and they should be replaced with NEW posters for events in the coming year. on the welcoming introduction paragraph on the main website, you need to remove my name from there and add Abdul-Alim's name. on the About section you need to replace the names of the President, VP, Treasurer etc etc etc, with the names of the NEW President, VP etc etc etc Some places might be not taken up yet, but still remove all the old names from there... On the forums, please call me so that I can tell you the username and password of the admin...could you then please remove myself, Samir, Sana and waheed etc from president, VP, treasurer etc...but still leave us as Exec. Could you then please promote Abdul-Alim, Yourself, Ayeshah to exec ...and call me with regards to anyone else you think should be there too.. Need this done ASAP please wasalam Rashid

assalaamu alaikum, hello, my tuppence on what needs doing on the website and forums: the website needs minor updates as specified in Rashid's post. I'm sorry I don't know what 'all the changes' you have planned are. The forums need some serious updating. I think the best way to explain why is to consider the purpose of the website/ forums. And here we hit a problems, because I no longer know if the purpose of the website/ forums is the same now as it was back in the day. Well, the actual purpose remains the same, it's almost a question of if you know it. Ok, well, philosophy aside, you have to consider that only the most recent message posted is advertised on the front page. I take the point that the ten most recent posts can still be viewed by clicking in the appropriate place. nevermind. please consider the need for threads like ' what i think of the new website/ forums' to be so prominent, when all the threads that are actually being written on are buried deep behind one or two titles. I guess the simple way of putting it is that the forums look even less active than they currently are because a lot of the prominent threads havn't been active in months/ years. Some need to just sit there, for information sake, but the place will be a bit refreshed if the active threads were more prominent, and thats also more encouraging for any visitors. I reserve the right to return to rewrite this when it makes a little more sense. wslm NMA

Salaam!
Any chance we could get the website updated with the new posters and new exec details? I worry that incoming freshers may find our website and get confused...
Also, the changes that NMA said wrt the forums are realllly important, as they do mk the forums look dead, and we dont want to give the impression of being a stagnant society. moreover, we dont want to actually BECOME a stagnant society, which means more people need to start coming out from hiding and showing us they are still there!
Just my thoughts...
Sana

AA, additional: the chatroom on the forums is quite old, and whilst functional could be replaced with a newer version. The important feature in this one is that ppl are signed on by their forums ID, so no one can impersonate anyone else. The biggest downside is that you cannot save discussions. the old chatroom bears the inscription I wrote a long time ago now from an internet cafe in Kuala Lumpor, and I am sure more modern chatroom facilites are available with proboards now. also, and this is more of a general note than one for the forums, but the campaigns board is empty. Either start some or delete it. I obviously recommend starting some, be they prayer room campaigns, charity campaigns, raising awareness campaigns, dawah campaigns, teaching, etc, etc. They will help to give the soc some focus. wslm NMA
