AA, Oh dear. Maybe no one is answering because you do not know your own purpose of existance. I am starting to get concerned... wslm NMA

Silence... the absence of all sound. In this world it is almost impossible to find true silence. Even on the darkest, stillest nights, the cycles of life continue, and by that process of living some movement causes tiny shockwaves of sound to cut through the velvety silence, as an echo, a faint scrape or song, or even an illusion from a hopeful imagination, for to those used to sound, true silence is a most unnatural, disturbing state.
If you guys and girls can't even hazard a guess as to why you as a society exist, then you shouldn't. And if you don't read your own forums, then equally, they shouldn't. Simple.

Salaam,
This is what I think the purpose of an isoc is, I'll try and keep it brief:
To facilitate and encourage students practising Islam on (and off) campus. From this primary roles flows various roles an isoc has. One of them is to educate. Another is to provide a halal alternative to many typical student social activities which may not be compatible with an Islamic lifestyle. Another role (whether wanted or not) is to be the voice for muslim students on campus, raising awareness and addressing certain issues that may arise in the media for example. But as our isoc is career specific, it also creates opportunity to focus on issues that concern us specifically as medics and provide academic support also. And throughout all of this inshallah direct and indirect dawah will be taking place.
So one can take a holistic approach to the role of an isoc, or it can be more focused and specific.
Well that's all I can think of for now.
