Salam sisters ... Its been a while so I was thinking we could go ice skating. i thought it was £15 but having checked the website for somerset house i found out that its actually £10. It said for tickets of 10 ppl or more , call ticketmaster.. perhaps there may be a further consession? Here are the details.... I think this could be really fun. taken from www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/18003D21BF2144C1?artistid=932294&majorcatid=10003&minorcatid=232Any thoughts sisters?? How about a late skate from 645-745 pm? or we could do it earlier but on a Wednesday, like at 1 pm or something. WS Sana

salaam,
ok iv looked at a few venues fr the skating and i think these are the best choices (excuse the long detail) NB. unless otherwise stated sessions are 1 hr long
Kew Gardens (open till 7th jan) -apparently 'london's most enchanting ice rink' -price £10 (concession £8) -session times 10am-10pm (more or less every hr) -in zone 3 (kew gardens st)
Somerset House (28 jan) -looks really pretty in the pics -£10/£12.50 after 5 -10am-9.15 -in zone 1 (temple/embankment)
Tower of London (14 jan) -£10 (£8) - 10am-10pm * special offer* From jan 8th-12th tix are £5 for the followin sessions: 10am,11.00,12.15,1.30,2.45, 4.00 - zone 2 i think (tower hill st)
Hampton Court(14 jan) - my fav! -£9.50 (£8) -10am-10pm * Special Offer* - All day skate for £7.50 from jan 8-12 (10am-5pm) -zone 6 (hampton court palace) -hav to get a train frm waterloo (32mins) but fare covered in zone 1-6 travelcard. NB oyster cards dnt work on train so everyone would hav to buy a paper version which is like £3.50 each if you travel in a group of 10 or more otherwise its £6.70
ok hope tht ws hlpful n nt too confusin these are the other outdoor rinks: Bluewater Ice Rink Canary Wharf Ice Rink Greenwich Ice Rink Hampstead Heath Ice Rink Natural History Museum Ice Rink Royal Windsor Ice Rink

Thanks so much for the detail Shahena thats exactly what we needed. As for somerset house, i found out on www.somersethouseicerink.org.uk/skate/13.aspStudent tickets are 7 pounds each, but only for the following dates and times... Student: £7 Available November 29 December 6 January 10 / 17 / 24 At these times 12.30 – 13.30 13.45 – 14.45 15.00 – 16.00 16.15 – 17.15 The January dates that they have listed are on tuesdays, we have our meetings on tuesdays so its not ideal. When do the 1st and second years free up though on these dates; do you have your schedules yet for jan? perhaps we could do it a bit earlier at 3? or during the lunch break? Otherwise we can always do a different venue...

Sounds good... not sure of my timetable for Jan yet, but I'm definitely up for it if I'm free... outdoor skating is the best! And Somerset House is REALLY good fun. Z

Okay... Id prefer to go not too late but when it's dark, perhaps at like 6 pm . What to you girls think? Is that too late for any of you? I know having it after 5 will mean more clinical students would be able to come. However this would cost 12.50 per person which is a bit much. Otherwise we can always do one of the allotted earlier times where they charge 7 pounds for students, but I would need to know how many sisters can come, ie check your schedules please! Somerset house is fairly close to Uni, its in zone 1 i believe so it should be fairly easy to get to iA. SANA ps. Ayeshah, yes alhamdulillah i haven't been given the boot yet, so you girls will have to put up with me for at least another year (iA) ;D

I spoke to 5 or 6 sisters today and everyone seems to think wednesday is the best day. I know some 1st year sisters have Arabic on a wednesday, and some sisters have mentoring... can you please give me the times that you finish on a wednesday? Perhaps we can go slightly later at around 3 or 4, rather than at 1. I spoke to UCL isoc sister Sarah and she said that she might want to cancel sisters sports on that wednesday if we want to do the ice skating trip so that sisters from the whole of UCL can come as well. Personally I think it would be excellent for RUMS Isoc to host a trip that is open to all sisters not just medics, and It would as Ayeshah said be a great way to meet new people. Anyways if you girls could possibly get back to me with regards to the times that you free up on a Wednesday that would be great...jzk WS Sana!

salam good point yasmin regarding the ECM for preclin's to check their schedules. Altho tbh i think this event will have to happen on a Wednesday to ensure that the maximum number of ppl can come iA. the uCL isoc sisters want to come as well so i think earlier is better than later . Inshallah 'll bring it up as well at the party on Wednesday so we can decide on which wednesday in Jan to go ice skating. Tc WS Love Sana
