AA,
There was some interest when I mentioned this at the meeting so yesterday I went to check out the Game On Exhibition at the Science Museum and the V&A in South Kensington (only about 20 minutes from UCL). The exhibit ends on the 25th of Feb and the only realistic date we can go before it ends is on Friday the 23rd during Intermodular week.
If we get at least 10 people we can go for around £5.50 each (as opposed to £8) but the rest of the museum is free. They’re really busy over half term which is why I wanted to book now but speaking to Rashid it might be a better idea to see if anyone can confirm they can come on that day. I spoke to Abdul, Nihad they can make it on Friday and try bring some more 1st years. The museum is open from 10am to 6pm, we can go from 10am-12.30am and then pray Jummah at Imperial and afterwards whatever you guys want. They do have some places to eat, I doubt they’re halal but reasonably priced, I think.
The V&A is only a stones throw away from the Science Museum (also free of charge) and have a really impressive collection of ceramics and carpets from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey etc. and old Quranic manuscripts in their new Jameel Gallery amongst other interesting things… Any thoughts?

AA, This sounds like a good day out - we can check out the video games and follow that up with some Islamic history at the V & A! Unfortunately I won't be able to confirm if I can make it until next week at the earliest because I change firms and will be getting a new timetable on Monday for the next five weeks. I'll let you know when I have more info next week - either way I suggest you go on a day that is convenient for the majority. Wslm, Shayan

AA, Unfortunately it would appear that I won't be able to make it to the Game On exhibition or the V&A after all - my new timetable has teaching scheduled on Friday morning and afternoon. Anyways, hope all you guys have a great day out! Wslm, Shayan
