salam al alaikum, jus quick thing for the moment, i think we shud def do an interfaith discussion (was an idea in one of last years threads i think), show people what islam is really about, the similarities with their religion, and the precise detail in which things are described in islam, which they know of from their religion etc. plus other benefits of interfaith discussion. wasalam, yasmin

Salamu Alaikum all, I agree with Yasmin on this point, as what better way to spread the Deen and fulfil our duty of giving dawa, as well as increasing our own knowledge and dawa skills. Although type of discussion is something more or less acheived by UCL isoc during Islam Week, no? We could try to get involved with the planning and running of Islam Week (which I heard was planned by less than 5 people last year!!), and most importantly trying to get more non-Muslim attendance at the events, as it is mostly aimed at that audience, yet the majority of people who came last year were Muslim brothers and sisters. We could have our own talk as well, although it would have to be by someone who knows not only Islam really well but also the other major religions and how they compare. Unless you were planning to have an external speaker? WS
