Islam & Modernity Lecture by Prof. Seyyed Hossein Nasr (See Attached Flyer)
The London Academy of Iranian Studies (LAIS) in conjuction with SOAS Salam soc. and UCL Ahlul-Bayt soc. present an event examining the challeneges that modernity presents islam; and how islam can solve many of the crises we face in the world today.
We are very fortunate to have such a scholar speaking on this crucial topic, and would therefore appreciate everyone making a special effort to attend and spread awareness of this event:
Speaker: Prof. Seyyed Hossein Nasr (Acclaimed international academic and Professor of Islamic Studies at George Washington University)

Seyyed Hossein Nasr graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with an undergraduate degree in Physics and Mathematics in 1954. He went on to Harvard University where he studied Geology and Geophysics, and then completed a Ph.D. in the History of Science and Philosophy in 1958. He is a world renowned scholar on Islam and is currently a University Professor at George Washington University. He has published over twenty books and hundreds of articles in numerous languages and translations. He has taught in many internationally renowned institutions & universities such as Harvard, Princeton, Utah, Tehran and Temple.
