AWESOME, T-shirts!!!!!!!!! is this for real??!? sorry, im so excited that we're gonna get rums isoc t shirts ;D ;D o i like the first one with the small logo in the top corner (and the second one, maybe we can alternate colours for the logo; though maybe the green one should be a bit lighter so it can be more visible) o and i also like the bottom one but maybe lose the barcode? and put something else above the writing or just have decorated rums isoc writing in the middle and a little logo at the bottom to the side....or! what would be really cool, is if you put the 3/4 squares of pictures that are in a row with gaps in between that exist on the very first thing you see when u first go to the rums isoc site, before the main home page loads. o and if youre gonna go with the third one (big logo on the front) maybe make it way smaller ie 35%-50% the size and move it up so that its 20cm below the collar (ie about same location as the barcode one), it seems way too far in the bottom half of the t shirt currently dnt u think?? or not..? ....actually, im startin to like the third one too now oh yeh, and there shud definately be something on the back as well, coz its so much more stylish and also so people can see what we're about when we turn around....in that case, the massive logo that is low down on the t-shirt would go really nicely i think on the back. so...whos idea was it to get t-shirts, or is this an annual thing; i really like the idea ...as u can tell, i like t shirts hope the comments on which ones helps wasalam yasmin ;D ;D

I think orange and black really work well together and would be cool if you could print a small logo in the top right hand corner (like the one currently there) plus a large-ish logo on the back as Yasmin said.
That would look quite professional

AA, I think having official RUMS ISoc T-shirts is a great idea! I really like the one with the small orange and white logo on the chest. Also, I wouldn't be keen to have a large logo on either the front or the back. However, I don't think our logo is as yet instantly recognisable (one day my friends... so it could be a good idea to have written beneath the logo "RUMS ISoc" in the font that appears under the barcode (which I think only looks good in the design without the white border to it, but I'd prefer no barcode preferably - sorry). Something that was mentioned to me by Haseeb would be to have Personalised T-shirts for members (I guess those we know well) and maybe even 'islamic jokes or one-liners'. What do you guys think? Salaam
some gr8 ideas above, and i think that no matter what style is chosen people will disagree on what is the best one cos we all have different styles and preferences so i guess the best way to do it is to go for the ideas which seem to b most popular.
i think the the small logo on the front at the top left corna, or is it right. i guess that depends on wether we are talkin about the right of the person wearing it or the right of the person looking at it, but either way i guess u guys know wot i mean.
although the barcode looks gud i dont fink its a gusd idea cos its so much bigger than the logo that it kinda takes tha attention away from it. but i do agree that we should definatly have "RUMS ISOC" clearly written on the front.
As for the back, again i think its a very gud idea to have something writen on the back. rather than a huge logo we should go for a small logo or "RUMS ISOC" writen close to the top of the shirts.
Having jokes and one liners is a gud idea but you have to consider the reactions that people mite have towards them. too many people are easily offended and that could cause problems. lets jst take the joke in the fresher's booklet last year into consideration, i found it hilarious but apparently there was negative critisism toward it, and if we write something like that on the back of our t-shirts its bound to get noticed by every1 and to cause problems. and if we rite politicaly correct jokes, although they cant cause offense the chances are that they just aint gna b funy enuf!
but anyway, thats jst my opinion.
i hope all this works out, cos its a really gud idea.

I aint too keen on the personalised t-shirts thing. In my mind, I was thinking that these t-shirts could be used in the future - if they were personalised you'd have to re-order/make new t-shirts. Obviously basic hygiene applies here when re-using (i.e. laundry). I just think that personalising them with jokes or whatever will restrict the use of the t-shirts. WS, Saj

salam al alaikum no! i dont wanna have to give mine bak!! eva!! id be willing to pay for it and buy the t shirt, coz i thought thts wot we might do, either supplied by the isoc, or tht we buy the t-shirts, and im sure tht we can afford to pay for a t-shirt, especially if it looks cool an we can wear it in the lecture theatre, thts wot i was intendin to do with mine and anyways, itd be spreadin a message/advertisin the isoc for us if we wore them everywhere but yeh....i was thinkin then maybe whoeva wants personalised ones buys it an orders it, jus like every club does and the freshers shirts (plus doing this makes it seem more of a club feel, and whoevas got one feels like a member so more people feelin part of/close to rumsisoc). and then in addition to tht, we order loads without names, for those not proper member or w/e, and for those not sure about buying one (then those ones can be reused for next year), and also having plain ones without names in addition just so tht they can be used as spare whenever we have an event and people dont have t-shirts but one thing about personalised ones...would they cost a lot more to manufacture? with the jokes i think they wud look cool at the back at the bottom, below the logo at the back. and as for funniness, maybe we should hold off puttin jokes on em until we can come up with/find something really funny; and when we do, we should put a different joke on each t-shirt so it doesnt become like we're backing one joke for every t-shirt; and we should get a thread on the forums for the jokes so everyone can comment/say if they dont like one or if they dont want one ont heir t-shirt or really want a specific joke. too many people are easily offended /quote] would muslims ever offend anyone with a joke?? sajjad, i get wot u mean with the jokes maybe restricting their use, ie u may not want to wear that joke everyhwhere and the t-shirts would be more useable without them (or did this statement only really apply if we were gonna reuse the t-shirts for other people later?) i thought it would be nice to have something 15x15cm at the centre in the back, maybe a picture or a logo. waheed, when u started talkin about the logo in the top left (and yes i wud say it is left!), i dont think u actually got to say wot u thought of it...do u like the one in the top left? wasalam, yasmin

Salaam
tnx for pointin dat out yasmin, i was intending on saying that i like the design with the logo on the top left corna.
as for the joke thing. i usually dont get offended by jokes and its not me that has a problem wiv dem. all im sayin is dat u can neva really no how people will react, even if we dont intend to be offensive there are people who will object.
on the topic of buying or reusing the tshrts, i agree wiv yasmin. i fink its a good idea for us to jst buy them and keep them rather than reusing them. that also allows future rums isoc members to design and edit their own tshrts. but i think it would be abit hard to organise if we have some personalised and some not. and then there is the hasel of finding a storage place for the rest of the shrts and all sorts of stuff like that.

Salaam guys,
just thought id add my two pence worth,,
seems like the majority consensus is the t-shirt with the rums isoc logo in orange which would be jst above the heart area...
i agree, although i also liked the barcode idea. I dont know how or why i came up with a barcode, i just thought it would look coolish and decided to make rums isoc a bit more designer lol..
my original intention was to also have pictures of the back view of the t-shirts, however i cudnt find a suitable back view of a black tshirt on google to use.....
not too sure about the funny one liners to be honest...wud it look professional? Also my intention was for rums isoc to originally order the tshirts, but for the individuals to buy them off rums isoc purely because i think the t-shirts would be a luxury lol and not something we truly need, the money we have should be going to fund and subsidize events for our members...as for re-using the tshirts, not too keen on that either because of the whole hygiene thing and storage of tshirts as waheed brought up too...
At the back of the t-shirts slightly below the collar i was thinking of either having RUMS ISOC written, or have the personalised names eg. RASHID AKHTAR and under that RUMS ISOC.... i wouldnt suggest having positions up there as then the t-shirt would only be valid for one year! lol
So is there anythign else you guys would like on the tshirt? So far all ive got is
1. NO barcode? 2. RUMS ISOC should be writtn in wrds somewhere 3. People are liking the orange logo in the top left corner 4. Something needs to go on the back.. ( i suggest names and the wrds rums isoc)
Let me know what u guys finally decide, cuz then i can go about making the final sort of design... wasalaam Rashid

AA,
I agree that the logo and RUMS ISoc should be on the T-shirts - but I'm not too sure if I'd really want my name displayed on it. I would prefer it just to say RUMS ISoc (maybe if you thought that was a little too simple you could put - "RUMS ISoc - Official Member" (Just brainstorming, not really a suggestion!).
Also I agree that it would be better for people to pay for their T-shirts as it is a luxury and one which I don't think the society should necessarily foot the bill for, plus it means you get to keep it!

Shayan

AA, point format cos I ain't got much time (amazing how language suffers in higher education ) 1. no barcode. 2. at last. 3. better for ppl to buy, assuming they willl, and I think they will. 4. In other clubs I been in, we had new designs every year.... so you get like a collection build up over time. 5. yes it's a luxury, but no, I wouldn't personalise them. Well, not yet. 6. The green can look quite good on black, depending on what green you use. So can the orange. Or any other colour. 7. In other clubs I been in, they would offer a variety of colours to choose from. And a variety of clothes... T shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, etc. 8. Probably not for here, but why does it say RUMS so incredibly small on the logo? 9. We keep talking about selling them... how much would they cost? wslm NMA
